Wentworth Military Academy, established in 1880, provides quality education to young men and women to prepare them to achieve the highest levels of education they desire; and to develop leadership, character, integrity, self-esteem, and physical well-being within the disciplined environment of the Corps of Cadets.
The Wentworth Military Academy's program is designed to produce mature young men and women who are self-motivated, well-educated, highly principled, self-confident, respectful of others and loyal to family and country. Being a Wentworth cadet is a unique experience that often becomes the turning point in a Cadet's journey to maturity. For young men and women, grades 9-14.
• An education that fits, with small class sizes and plenty of opportunities to work one-on-one with teachers, professors and staff.
• The opportunity to develop leadership skills by guiding the development of younger cadets and taking on a level of responsibility most people don't gain until later in life.
• A structured environment that teaches you important self-management and organizational skills.
• With a student-to-staff ratio of 31 to 1 and an average class size of 15, cadets don't get left behind-they get the personal attention they need to succeed.
• At Wentworth we give everybody an opportunity to prove themselves in any of the many sports we have, even to those who have never done it before or do not have the physical superiority.
• Wentworth is one of the few High Schools in the Midwest that still require community service as a graduation requisite.
• Because they are removed from outside distractions and able to concentrate more fully on their schoolwork, cadets can perform better in and outside the classroom, which is a key ingredient in their academic success.
• Historically, 95% of Wentworth's graduates attend college or a university. The Academy counts as alumni highly successful business, political and professional leaders all over the world.
