Hi - Many of my relatives lived in Hawarden from the late 1800's - late 1900's. They would include the McAninch, Heumphreus, Morgan, and Garrett families. I'd sure appreciate any info if you are related!

As for the Morgan surname, do your records show a Mattie Morgan, born approximately 1877, who married Ben French? They lived in the Crescent, Iowa, area. They are bured at The Grange Cemetery, near Honey Creek, Iowa.

Hi- I wish I could help you, but I have very little on the Morgan side of the family. My records go back to Frederick Morgan, father of Frank Elmer Morgan, b. 1863.
Best of luck

Where is Hawarden? Is it Mills County or Pott? I'm planning to research Mattie and Ben so, if I learn information about Frederick or Frank, I will pass it on. I won't be surprised if the three are related. In the past year, I've learned that a lot of friends and acquaintances are related to me! I've also discovered that some of the cousins on my material side are also cousins on my paternal side! Genealogy is fascinating!

Hi- Hawarden is in the northwest corner, just about on the border of South Dakota. I think it is Sioux County. Frank Morgan is said to be from Benton County, Iowa.
That would be my paternal grandmother's line.
Best wishes....

I am researching my family tree - I have Ancestors that lived in Lincoln, Iowa in the 1895 Iowa census they are Geerd & Franca Groenewold. Geerd Groenewold (1833-1912) and Franca (1842-1899). Does anyone recognize these names from any grave stones at the Cemetary? I live in Northern MN and am unable to drive down there to look...any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

I am looking for records etc. mentioning Roswell Merrill. He died on November 23, 1857 and his wife Harriet Florilla remarried Hutchison Smith afterward.
I am looking for Roswell's parents. I have not been able to find this link anywhere. He had lived in either Vt. or Ma. before moving to Iowa.
I would appreciate any information or even a place to search. Thanks in advance

I am researching my family tree, especially sons of Simon Motz, who changed the spelling to Moats, including David Moats, Peter Moats and especially Andrew Moats who married Margret, and I would like to know if Simon had other children, and where Andrew lived and if he really delivered mail by horseback between Iowa and Illinois. Thank you, Betsy Moats Kelleher at goduseshorses@aol.com

I'm doing research on my family looking for any information on John Dean who was in a fatal car crash in the early 50's, I believe off of hwy218. A newspaper article would be appreciated or any info.
