I am a Brahmin(Hindu) from India, not very religious but open to find out more and see if religion makes any sense at all. I am a very logical person and to this day I am still searching if God really exists. Ever since I came to KC, I have found tons of Christians who argue that God exists and the proof that they all give is the Bible. Coming from the East I do not have this thinking based on :believing", I would rather think and understand. If someone out there really thinks God exists, can you please give me some logical evidence, apart from simply saying "Read the BIble", I would appreciate it.
Looking forward to get all my God questions answered from this wonderful Forum.

Hinduism is very open when it comes to questioning and debating on the concept of God. This is what attracts me to Hinduism, there are a number of texts fro the scriptures, each trying to understand the mysteries of life, in doing so each one of them gives us a glimpse of the supreme and leaves us thinking more about who and what exactly God might be. But the traditional religious Hindu belief is that there is only one God “Brahman” the supreme soul and we are all part of that being in the form of individual souls who one day will join the supreme(Brahman).
I enjoy understand the concept of God as it inspires me as well as shocks me to realize that people around the world, depending on their past experiences define, understand and believe God is their own way. This made me realize that God might not actually be external to our thinking; it is in fact an internal part of our thinking and hence is a mere concept. This type of thought has been reinforced in me when I see and understand how Christian understand or believe in God.
Also in Hinduism there are various schools of thought and the main ones are Dvaita and Advaita, the former separates the Self(soul) and the Supreme(Brahman) and explains the world based on the concept of duality, while the latter advocates the philosophy of oneness, where the self and the supreme are one and the same and the self is simply a part of the supreme and our lives will just be a path for these souls(self) to go over a process and then ultimately reach the supreme soul to be one with Brahman.
So my question was out of curiosity; whether God really exists according to Christianity? If so can the existence of God be logically proved? Can we define God in simple and logical terms apart from saying, God is love, coz love is a feeling and if God were to be love then God is a mere feeling and is created by us humans in our time of need and despair.
I think it is interesting to understand the God whether you look at it as a concept or as an actual fact. Let’s get the discussion rolling…..
Thanks,
PK

The spirit realm is the parent force of the natural realm. It's like the wind. You can't see the wind but you can see the effects of the wind. Love in the pure form is not a feeling but a spirit that unconditionally accepts and gives to all humanity regardless of humanity's acceptance or understanding of Love. The way to see the evidence of God is in demonstrations of power. I know God and have seen evidence of his reality. While in the back of a vehicle over 8 years ago as passengers my wife (2 weeks pregnant) and I instantly shouted the name Jesus as we spun out of control at 70+ plus mph on an icy highway. The car felt as if it floated smoothly off the highway down from the shoulder spinning and back up the bank to the entrance ramp to the highway and the car came to a perfect stop with us facing the same highway with no damage at all. The two in the front seat after being warned to slow down were swearing profanities while we lost control and were in awe once the car stopped safely. Two years ago my son had lactose intolerance and I had been learning how healing is a benefit to those who believe in and receive salvation through Christ. My son and I agreed he would be healed and I commanded the source of the problem to leave his body. The next mornig instead of lactose free milk he had regular milk and has been healed ever since by the power of God. By faith God being real to us is based on our mindset and belief in what God's Word says. The work of evil is to do everything possible to make God's Word appear to be a lie. The Bible says we walk by faith and not by sight, the just shall live by faith. No one can please God without faith. God's Word is like a spiritual mirror as is mentioned in the book of James as the perfect law of liberty. You can't go by your feelings because they change all the time. God and our recreated spirit in Christ never changes, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. To get a true picture of who we are in the spirit we have to stay continually in the Word of God. The old unrenewed mind will fight against everything you feel with your 5 senses. Romans 12:1-2 provides the answer in being a living sacrifice and not conforming to the senses but renew your mind by always staying in God's Word. His Word is Spirit and it is Life. You must ask the Holy Spirit to reveal himself to you so that you can believe and see the evidence of His existence!

I am moving to Missouri in a few weeks, and have much more personal proof that God, Jesus,The Holy Spirit exsist. I am now working on four books of actual experiences I have had and am still very much having with Our God and the Holy Spirit. My "experience" began in 1997 when the Holy Spirit actually covered me with a brilliant "white light" in the kitchen area of my home in Jacksonvile, Florida and actually spoke to me, embraced me, and let me know my Father, in New York, was going to be in Heaven with Him that day. I had just enough time to call, find he had been rushed to the hospital, and had just enough time to speak to him for a few moments before he passed away. Since that day, I have learned about the Holy Spirit, and am being led by Him and Our God to develop a small Non-denominational Christian community near Branson, Missouri. That is why I am moving from Florida now. He told me, "It is time to let them know," and I am moving to begin a journey that promises to be quite remarkable. The Holy Spirit communicates with me in actual verbal "words," "thought communication," using others to transmit "messages," radio, tv, and even the internet! Quite often He uses and "nagging" and "thoughts" to get me to do what he is directing me to do...He keeps up this "nagging" until I finally "get it" too! He had been "nagging" me to "move
West of the Mississippi" for 15 years. Since I bought the land in Missouri (West of the Mississippi) the "nagging" has finally stopped.
Yes, there is a God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And if you open the door to let them into your life, believe with all your heart that He is your Savior, the Way and the Light, give yourself back over to Him, and ask for Him to reveal His purpose for you, to you, He will answer you and quide you all the way. He is love, pure love. He will not let you down. He only wants your love, just like your Father here on Earth. Talk to Him, let Him know you seek Him and want a relationship with Him. Let Him know you will surrender yourself, turn your entire being over to Him to do as He wills. And you will get an answer. I did, and even though for a long time I walked another path, He kept after me. Today I live for Him. Now I live in "a place called Faith," and I truly know what that means. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Love and Keep Seeking, Remember...He loves your attention! Keep Him on your mind and in your life 24/7 and He will answer! Promise!

I will answer your question ... which in my opinion can be paraphrased as 'prove to me that God exists'.
To try to 'prove' that God exists by writing of our own life experiences is futile. We believe 'by Faith'. Seeking God, living in the Spirit, Believing in God, experiencing Gods' presence in our lives, may create a calming, reassuring awareness or it may result in a re-awakening that brings changes to our mind and Spirit, our thoughts, our goals, our desires.
You said you were 'not very religious'. My own experiences with organized religion have been disheartening. Organization creates Power, Power brings the temptation of corruption, and the resulting Greed or Lust exhibited by Man has disappointed me greatly. I Believe each person must find their own path ... but I believe that there is a 'path' for each of us. Ask God into your Life, ask God to cleanse your Soul. Your Faith in God will provide you answers to your questions.

I Believe in God through my Faith in God.

Note: If one had 'proof' of Gods' existence, then one would no longer Believe in God by 'Faith', but by 'fact'. Christianity instructs us to Believe by Faith.

Oh he does exist!! YOu must ask him into your heart in order to know him. Once you do that , you will know!!
He is a loving caring God who accepts each of us as we are.
No one is perfect, only Christ who came down as man was perfect.
He forgives us for our sins and is always there with us.
As a person who has almost died 3x i know he is there

Hinduism has a passive God. Christianity describes God as a person who came to this earth to be an "example" for all. God himself shall come down among the children men and shall redeem His people. Because he dwelleth in the flesh He is called the Son of Man. He is God, the Father because he was conceived by the power of God and the Son, because of the flesh, thus becoming the Father and Son. And they are one God.

hi there! I go to Calvary Chapel in Budapest, Hungary. (You might be able to check out the site, and download some of the teaches, at www.mp3.golgota.hu or www.pdf.golgota.hu if you prefer to read it - pastor Greg is from the US. He was a surfer in California when he was young. He was a really broaden mind and great characteristic. It gives a kind of guide principles to modern life, with biblical roots. Lot of youngsters at their 20s-30s are coming to hear it every week to rejoyce, and to study the Bible together in a joyful, blessed athmosphere. They are really interesting. If you are sceptic about it, then this is the time, just give it a choice.
